THE GROUP
The Masstech Group is recognized worldwide for their custom-developed software for management of video assets of clients such as 20th Century Studios, CNN, BBC, Reuters.
THE CLIENT
To support the Group’s activity, Masstech Romania was incorporated in Timisoara and by 2020 reached a number of 38 employees and a turnover of over 6 mil. RON.
THE CHALLENGE
In 2020, we had to prepare in a very short period of time (i.e. less than 70 calendar days) the transfer pricing documentation file of Masstech Romania for the period under the statute of limitations as per the request of the Romanian Tax Authorities.
THE TAX AUDIT
The investigations of the transfer pricing ended quickly and the Romanian Tax Authorities accepted the transfer pricing file that we prepared for our client without any additional inquiries.
THE RESULT
The transparency of conclusions comprising the file, as well as the promptitude with which it was made available to the tax audit team, convinced them not to pursue the audit further.
THE TAKEAWAY
This case study serves as a reminder that the voluntary compliance with the local TP regulations, dilligently and in due time, can save the taxpayers a lot of wasted time, energy and money.
